Job Description:
Position: DRIVER
- Safely operate company vehicles to transport staff, materials, equipment, and official documents to various locations as required.
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and promptly report any faults, defects, or maintenance requirements.
- Ensure assigned vehicles are kept clean, secure, roadworthy, and properly maintained at all times.
- Adhere strictly to traffic laws, road safety regulations, and the Company's driving and HSE policies.
- Maintain accurate trip logs, mileage records, fuel consumption records, and other vehicle-related documentation.
- Ensure the timely pick-up and drop-off of personnel and materials in accordance with approved schedules and instructions.
- Demonstrate a high level of professionalism, courtesy, and confidentiality when transporting staff, visitors, and Company representatives.
- Assist with the movement and delivery of Company materials, equipment, documents, and other items between office locations, project sites, and designated destinations.
- Monitor vehicle fuel levels and ensure timely refuelling to prevent disruption to official assignments.
- Report accidents, vehicle breakdowns, or other issues involving the assigned vehicle promptly to the appropriate supervisor.
- Support emergency, ad-hoc, and operational logistics requirements as assigned.
- Provide standby driving support to cover personnel on annual leave or support project activities at off-site locations.
- Plan routes effectively, considering traffic conditions, road conditions, weather, and expected travel time to ensure timely arrival at destinations.
- Ensure all vehicle documents, including insurance, roadworthiness certificates, and other statutory documents, are valid and available when required.
- Perform other driving and logistics-related duties as may be assigned by Management.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum Qualification: WAEC/SSCE; OND is an added advantage.
- Possession of a valid Nigerian driver's licence.
- Minimum of 2–3 years' proven experience as a professional driver, preferably in a corporate, logistics, construction, or industrial environment.
- Good knowledge of road networks, traffic regulations, and safe driving practices.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and the ability to identify common vehicle faults.
- Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, good judgment, and professionalism.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when transporting staff and handling Company information or materials.
- Physically and mentally fit to perform driving duties effectively.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays when required.
- Ability to work independently, follow instructions, and respond appropriately to changing operational requirements.
